Project Reveal 9: Des Plaines Kitchen Remodel
Our clients for this project wanted our Chicago design-build team to give them a spacious, functional kitchen where they could enjoy time with family and entertain friends. The old Des Plaines kitchen was closed off from the living room with two walls and it didn’t have enough storage or light. The first thing we did was to remove these walls and open up the space. Here are the before and afters:
The new, open layout kitchen now blends in seamlessly with the dining and living rooms, which made the entire area look more spacious and bright. Our clients wanted the kitchen to have more light as the walls had blocked the natural light from entering the space. Now the kitchen is an oasis of sunlight!
The stove in the old kitchen was facing the wall. Our design-build team moved the stove to the other side of the kitchen, so now it faces out into the living room, which is ideal for when the family is gathering together or entertaining. Cooking and conversation are done simultaneously!
We also installed LED lights under the counters to give the quartz countertops extra visual appeal — a feature our clients love.
One of the top priorities our clients had for renovating their kitchen was more storage. The earlier kitchen had limited storage options, and as a result, their space was always cluttered with cereal, bags of chips, and kitchen items. Our kitchen designer addressed this problem by installing classic, white cabinetry and by creating smart storage solutions like spice racks and lazy susans. We even created a space for a small pantry.
The Des Plaines homeowners were extremely happy with the renovation and said, “It was a great experience working with the Chi Ren team.” Here’s what they have to say about their experience:
Does your cluttered, dark kitchen need a bright, modern renovation? Our Chicago kitchen designers and builders will be happy to help.
